brokenclaw; i like your websites i followed them to historic st marys city and see several references to my original ancestor in america. it is good to know that you had an ancester who helped with the growth of the country. my chances of getting back east to those sites is pretty slim as i live in oregon,am retired and do not have much traveling money, ken swearengin

On 18 November 2009 Fort Detrick, MD will host an American Indian Heritage Month Observance. The scheduled guest speaker is Karl Little Owl. I am looking for Native American performers, artists, singers, or story tellers that can bring their talents and knowledge of Native American life and culture to the event. Dear BrokenClaw,

I am contacting you because I want to learn more about who I am by researching my roots. I live in Ho. Co. MD and I am an African American, but I have been told that I have Native American roots, but no one in the family can give specifics, so I was wondering if you could help. Also, besides researching my Native history, I want to become active in the Native American community and learn the culture of various tribes/nations. Can you help?

Some years back, I met a wonderful Indian during a spiritual retreat and he honored me with the Spirit name Morning Star. I love this name and I would like to honor the name and the culture, but learning….

Hi,

I am Robin Stokes-Smith, Outreach Coordinator for Upper Chesapeake Healthlink. I am working with a grant that provides Free Primary Care for Minorities. Native Americans are a segment of the county population that I am trying to reach. I will attend the Morning Star Celebration at John Carroll School on January 10th.

I’m a herbal medicine student in the M.Sc. program at Tai Sophia Institute. I’m doing a little volunteer work with Baltimore Bioneers and we are looking for an articulate, well-focused Maryland Native American to speak at the conference (in October) regarding Native American worldview, the environment, sustainability, and possibly herbal and shamanic medicine.
